Alumni relations
The university’s alumni
are its former students and its graduates.
They are significant members of the university’s
wider community and frequently continue to
play an active role and take an interest in university
activities.
Alumni generally identify with their professional
group i.e. school or clinical school or year
of graduation. There are established alumni
links in the schools of Medicine, Dentistry
and Physiotherapy. Other schools are investigating
development of their alumni relationships.
Alumni may assist the university with:
- advocacy, influence, networking and communication
– they can be the organisation's greatest
ambassadors;
- involvement in university community
(eg. mentor, volunteer, attending events,
providing community views);
- financial support including bequests.
