The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences is Australia's premier biomedical research faculty, attracting more national peer-reviewed medical research funding than any other medical and health sciences faculty in the country. It attracts half of all research funds gained by the University of Melbourne, Australia's top-funded university for educational and research programs.
With an overall research income in 2007 of more than $142 million, the faculty is renowned for the breadth and depth of its research in areas ranging from medical education and medical history to biotechnology and genetics.
The Faculty Research Grant Mentoring Scheme continues with a panel of mentors who offer faculty-wide mentoring for grant proposals submitted to major funding sources in the next funding rounds.
The mentoring scheme works with schools and departments to complement strategies for research proposal submission. The scheme will provide peer group support so that faculty researchers can develop proposals to attract funding and underpin a robust research career.
We invite all researchers to take advantage of the peer support offered by the scheme.
